Thunder and Music

July has not been what I envisioned.  We’ve had two thunderstorms, one last night which involved a twenty minute downpour, cracks of lightning that rattled windows, and four firetrucks arriving on our corner.  We smelled smoke too.  Not sure what happened.

It never does this in Fresno in July.  It’s as if we’re in a different world.

And yesterday I created a duet for cello and guitar, played by one person.  You lean the guitar against your left knee and play it on the neck with your left hand.  I don’t know where that came from either.  I didn’t set out to do that when I woke up yesterday.  It just happened.

I love surprising things like this.  And if there can be thunderstorms in July, and music for cello and guitar played by one person, then other things could happen as well.  You just never know.
